Two Times the Fun!
Yesterday I had my first doctor's appointment. During the appointment, he asked how far along I was. Here is how the conversation went:
Dr. C: How far did you say you were again?
Me: 13 weeks.
Dr. C: You are feeling big for 13 weeks. Either you are further along than you think, or there is more than one baby in there.
Me: I was thinking that I was already kind of big, too. Please tell me I am just further along than I thought.....(voice trailing off into a hopeful whisper)
Dr. C: Well, let's do an ultrasound to find out what is going on!
So, Aaron and I head over to the room with the ultrasound machine. We get in there, and Dr. C. starts the ultrasound.
Dr. C: Well, I just see one head......oh, oh! There's another one! There are two of them in there! Congratulations!
Me: What? What? What am I going to do?!?
Aaron: Don't worry, you can do it! You will be great!
Me: You've never given birth!
Dr. C.: (laughing) Isn't this exciting?!?
Me: Yeah, sure....I think I am going to cry.
And I did. Aaron and I spent the evening calling family to share the news, which everyone was delighted to hear. It was beginning to get a little overwhelming and then late last night, after watching a movie, it just hit me like a ton of bricks. This means two carseats, two strollers (or a double stroller), two of everything! (Good thing we already have at least one of most things we will need.) We will probably have to get a minivan. Everyone keeps reassuring me that I can do this. Now, I just need to convince myself!

NO WAY!!! Twins, Wow Haley, that is something. I know that must be overwhelming, but think about how cute it all can be matching outfits, best friends, oh so fun. But this is also coming from someone with out twins, but you will do great.n Do you know the sex yet?
Oh my goodness! Congratulations! Do twins run in your family? I've heard that its hard at first but as soon as their like 1 year or 1 1/2 years old that its a lot easier because they play together and keep each other entertained. I would love that I have to entertain Madie all day long it would be great if she had a twin to play with. Oh and you'll have Emma to help you take care of them. Big sisters are really a big help its like a little mom!
Oh my gosh! Oh my gosh! Oh my gosh!!!!! AHHHHHH! I wish I was at church right now to hear you announce this!!! As overwhelming as you probably feel, congratulations!!! I can hardly believe it! I wonder how I would react if I was to have twins! I can't wait till the ultra sound now to see what they are. I'm still in a daze, I can only imagine the excitement/overwhelming feeling you have. But like Aaron said, you can do it and you WILL be GrEaT!!!!
Haley -We were thrilled and excited with the twin news, but understand your anxious feelings too. You will be a great mom to twins and also a very busy one! Emma can be your little helper! We look forward to seeing everyone around the Christmas holidays! Congratulations!
Love, Jamie and Dad
Congratulations!!! I am so excited for you! You will be amazing!
Everyone has pretty much expressed what I was thinking! Holy Cow! I can't even imagine how that must feel! Congrats!
Twins...Where should I begin... ?Adrian had had the best way of looking at the whole situation when we found out we were having twins. At least there are just 2 babies,( for a moment at our ultrasound we thought they were finding a third baby!!!!)
His idea was that 2 would be okay since there were 2 of us, and when he wasn't around at least I had 2 eyes, 2 hands, and 2 breasts.
Such wisdom from my 22 year old husband. HE had never nursed a baby!!!
Oh well, it will be fun. Really.
Why did I type had twice in my first comment? I must have twin syndrome!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Wow Haley! What exciting and overwhelming news! Harley always likes to tease me that maybe we'll roll doubles with one of our future pregnancies! Anyway, glad that I found your blog, and if I can find your email address, I'll send you an invite to ours!
